In response to Gerbe, last blog:

Sure, of course, I wasn't suggesting Murray shouldn't have made the trades, just that we have to look at the whole picture of the trades, not just the guys shipped out of here. Those picks (Especially the ones the 2015 draft) had the potential to land some real gem prospects. Of course it's all hindsight now, but the Lehner trade (and, I like Lehner) left Konecny on the board. Would have, could have, should have, but would you trade Lehner right now for Konecny?

Idk if I would do the trade because honestly this team needs a strong backbone in a goalie...we would be left with nilsson or ullmark? We would end up like the oilers of old. And who is to say we would have selected him even if he was on the board? I don't disagree with you saying some could picks could have ended up studs but as someone pointed out in the last blog, its more likely they don't become studs but rather AHLers or fringe NHLers.

edit: we both make good points I don't mean to argue just to argue

Pach, I love your "glass half full" mentality. On days such as today, this is the only option. Like yourself, I am keeping the faith in both teams.

Fair enough, and I don't think it's an argument at all, just an exchange of ideas and opinions and hypotheticals to cure boredom. If any one of us had the answers, we'd be NHL G.Ms not sitting on this message board.

Lets all blame the refs on the bills loss when they had 30 minutes to win the game themselves

Yeah that's kinda why I was giving counterpoints, just due to the fact that Im bored and most of the time the conversations in the threads revolve around the same idea.

They also are in the bottom 5 in scoring this year. They could use Konecny. You can find good goalies numerous places, you can't find Travis Konecny's who have 9 points already at 19 years old too many places.

My biggest beef with the Lehner deal wasn't that we traded a 1st, it's that we traded a 1st in a loaded draft

Can't every blame a ref/refs for a loss...but that was about as close to a game deciding miss-call I have ever seen. Doesn't mean we would have won, but to mess up and then mess up on the ensuing play is tough...I get the frustration.

Bills playoff drought is old enough to get a drivers license. Think it will make it to able to go to a strip club ?
